I have recently arrived in Gozo after spending three months in St Petersburg, Russia where I studied for my International TEFL certificate, followed by some teaching experience with Russian students. Prior to that I lived in Scotland where I worked for my local College of Further Education as an IT Trainer and my local council as an Adult Education Learning Co-ordinator.
As a Supply Trainer I was responsible for running a range of short IT courses, supporting ECDL students and invigilating/marking exams, the provision of relief management cover for the four learning centres and working with special needs students to develop their skills.
As an Adult Education Learning Co-ordinator I ran a series of training events to build computer skills, self confidence, self esteem and the soft skills needed to help people back into employment.
I have experience in working with all age groups, my youngest students were 15 and my oldest was an amazing gentleman of 88. Initially he did a Computing for the Terrified course which then led to the Internet and e-mail course. Since then he has done three more computing short courses and I have shown him how to use Excel for home accounting purposes. I also have experience working with both mentally and physically disabled students.
Prior to that I gained a lot of experience in a training role through my involvement with Health & Safety, road haulage and warehousing.
I have an enormous amount of patience and I do not mind if you ask the same question 50 times. There is no such thing as a stupid question if you do not know the answer and you are never too old, as the wonderful gentleman above proves. |
